A threadlocker is a helpful adhesive for locking joints. It eases the pressure on screws, bolts, and mechanical attachments by giving them artificial support. However, some small errors can cause the adhesive to perform poorly. Here are four usual problems that your employees might have committed in the past.

Disregarding Application Factors

All threadlocker products have their individual environmental and material issues, which employees should pay careful attention to. For example, cold environments, even air-conditioned facilities, could potentially  slow down its cure time. Additionally, some metals like zinc and aluminum can't work well with certain threadlockers unless you use an activator. 

Removing Just a Part of Old Adhesives

It's crucial to remove old threadlocker material before applying and curing a new layer. If you fail to remove the existing adhesive, the new layer cannot provide its full function. With its foundation latched on the old adhesive's capability, it will dislodge faster than the new layers under high pressure. Removing both the old and new layers will add labour time and possible expenses due to damages.

Failing to Reach Proper Cure Time

Every adhesive has its set cure time. Threadlockers can reach their working strength when it fully cures in 24 hours. Truthfully, you can wait for 20 minutes to an hour to re-assemble a machine. However, its full support capability manifests only after 24 hours. 

Not Using the Correct Adhesive for the Job
